Please note: Kameti is currently a proof of concept. The features described on this website represent the service being developed and may change before launch. At this stage, the only information we collect is your email address for the purposes of our waitlist.

Who we are

Kameti is a project building a halal savings circle platform for British Muslims. Kameti is not yet a registered company. This privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data when you sign up to our waitlist at mykameti.co.uk.

What information we collect

At this stage, we collect only:

Your email address — when you sign up to the Kameti waitlist
Basic analytics data — such as how you found our website (for example, from a search engine, social media, or a referral link). This may include UTM parameters attached to the link you clicked.

We do not collect your name, address, phone number, payment details, or any other personal information at this stage.

Why we collect it

We collect your email address so we can:

Let you know when Kameti launches
Invite you to test the prototype before launch as a founding member
Share updates about how the platform is developing

We collect analytics data to understand where our audience is coming from so we can focus our efforts on the most relevant communities.

How your data is processed

Your email address is stored and managed using Mailchimp, a third-party email marketing platform operated by Intuit Inc. By joining the waitlist, your email address is added to our Mailchimp audience. Mailchimp's privacy policy is available at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any other third parties.

Legal basis for processing

We process your email address on the basis of your consent — you have actively chosen to sign up to our waitlist. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.

How to unsubscribe or request deletion

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it will remove you from our waitlist immediately.

If you would like your data deleted entirely, please email us at siraj@mykameti.co.uk with the subject line "Delete my data" and we will remove your information from our records within 30 days.

How long we keep your data

We will keep your email address on our waitlist until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or Kameti launches and the waitlist is no longer active. We will not retain your data longer than necessary.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of any inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw your consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

Cookies and tracking

Our website does not currently use tracking cookies. We may collect basic referral data (such as UTM parameters) from the URL you used to visit our site. This data is used only to understand how people found us and is not used to track you across other websites.

Changes to this policy

As Kameti develops, this privacy policy will be updated to reflect any new data we collect or how we use it. We will notify waitlist members of any significant changes by email.
